Yate restaurant Saffron wins Bristol Post's top takeaway competition
THE votes have all been counted and The Post can reveal Yate restaurant Saffron is our Takeaway of the Year.
The pan-Pacific restaurant scooped the overall winner's prize after readers voted in their thousands.

Owner Aziz Chowdhry, who was presented with his certificate ahead of receiving the coveted Takeaway of the Year trophy, said his staff have demanded a party to celebrate.
The restaurant will receive a £200 cheque, while three runners-up who topped their respective categories will each receive £50.

Topping the Fish and Chips category was Fishers on Whiteladies Road, taking the Chinese award was Golden Rice on Fishponds Road, while the "other" award went to Little Gem on the Christmas Steps.
Some 80 takeaways made it onto the nominations board before 6,500 people voted for their favourite.
Readers sent in their votes by mail or registered online to pick the winner.
Mr Chowdhry, of Cranleigh Court's Saffron, told The Post: "I was surprised when I heard the news. I thought there was no chance because there are a couple of really good restaurants around offering competition.
"But I own a couple more restaurants and hoped one of them might make it in to one of the categories.
"When I got the call I couldn't believe it."
The 55-year-old, who started working in restaurants when he was 14, said: "My staff came to me and said 'boss we need a party'.
"So we are going to do a big night somewhere to celebrate our success. They have worked very hard to make it possible."
Owner of Little Gem Sue Rogers, 59, said her award had "made her year".
Sue, who started the business with her daughter Sherral, said: "I'm absolutely chuffed – I can't explain what it means. It's been hard work and the customers have all been brilliant – they've kept the business going and I can't thank them enough.
"The whole place was a bit of a dream for myself and my daughter but it's all worked out and I'm so glad."
Owner and manager of Fishers Lukas Nowak, 28, said he was "very happy" to pick up the best Fish and Chips award.
The manger of Golden Rice was not available for comment.
