Laird targets 40-point mark
BLUE SQUARE BET SOUTH
Craig Laird has set his Weston-super-Mare players a target of accumulating 40 points by the end of January.
On 26 points following back-to-back wins over Boreham Wood and Hornchurch, the Seagulls require another five wins in six weeks if they are to satisfy their manager.
Laird, who takes his squad to Staines today, believes 40 points will be enough to secure the club's Blue Square Bet South status for another season.

He said: "Between 40 and 45 points is normally enough to stay up in this league and the sooner we reach that mark the happier I will be.
"It is all about setting short-term targets and that is the first box that can be ticked.
"I would like us to get to 40 points by the end of January and then re-evaluate and set new targets."
Laird will delay naming his side pending checks on Jamie Price, who has had a groin problem, and Ross Stearn, who has been experiencing knee trouble.
Salisbury visit Eastbourne in their Blue Square Bet South fixture this afternoon.
