BREAKING NEWS: Flash floods hit Lydney in Gloucestershire
Residents in Lakeside Avenue, Lydney, Gloucestershire, suffered damage as flood waters penetrated their homes, in some cases for the third time.
The Met Office, this morning, issued a severe weather warning for the region until tomorrow evening and said that around two inches of rain is expected.

Michael Dukes, forecast manager at the Press Association's weather division MeteoGroup, warned road users to take care during tomorrow morning's rush-hour.
"The first major storm system of the autumn is approaching from the Atlantic at the moment.
"It is expected to arrive in Gloucestershire after midnight tonight.
"It will bring pretty appalling weather, particularly in the morning rush-hour, with lots of heavy rain and gusty winds so we are expecting some significant flood problems.
"There is a lot of rain coming to the South West tomorrow and, with the ground already saturated and river levels pretty high, there is a chance of flooding.
"There may be a little bit of respite come tomorrow afternoon when the heavy rain will turn to thundery showers."

“I live on top of a hill and build boats. Here's my message to all those jobs worths in the Environment Agency and British Waterways who fail year after year to clear our rivers, streams and ditches, and to all those failures responsible for clearing out our roadside drains, and to all those planners and politicians who have allowed millions of acres of our fields to be tarmac and concrete. Think of me when Bath and Bristol are 6 feet under water. I'm the one who has nagged you for years about the state of our waterways. That simple peasant who has lived and worked on the River Avon for twenty odd years, and seen the drastic flood consequences caused by your neglect of our watercourses, road drainage systems, and over development of green fields surrounding our flood plains. At least we won't need a hose pipe ban next year.”
