Ryanair's new routes set to boost Bristol airport traffic
Eleven new destinations will become available from Bristol International Airport from next week as low fares airline Ryanair brings its total number of routes to 33.
The airline first adds to its list of destinations on Wednesday, July 1, when it launches a route to Cagliari, in Sardinia.
On Thursday, July 2, new services to Barcelona (Reus), Montpellier (South of France) and Toulon (France) are introduced, and on Friday, flights begin to Alicante (Spain), Perpignan (France), Rimini (Italy) and Seville (Spain).
Next Sunday, July 5, sees the first flights to Trieste (Italy) and Malta.
Ryanair last introduced a new route from Bristol on March 31, when it began flying to the Dutch city of Eindhoven.
With the new routes, Ryanair has doubled its number of aircraft based at Bristol from two to four.
Bristol International Airport's aviation director Shaun Browne said: "The launch of the new routes shows the strength of the market in the South West and Wales and Ryanair's commitment to meeting demand for travel from the airport.
"Routes such as Perpignan and Rimini provide exciting new possibilities for leisure passengers, while the new services to destinations such as Seville and Montpellier will be welcomed by the business community. The new flights represent an opportunity for the tourist trade in the South West, coming at a time when the UK represents such great value for money for European visitors."
The new routes bring the total number of destinations available from Bristol international Airport to 112.

“Well Mendip Man with your pompous factual accuracy.
How come i've already flown to Reus with Ryanair from Bristol?”

“Conrad, you are factually incorrect.
None of the above routes have been flown from Bristol by Ryanair before, though some are flown by other airlines.
Since setting up its Bristol base Ryanair has axed five routes from its Lulsgate schedule, namely, Derry, Dinard, Gdansk, Katowice, Scezecin and Salzburg, the last one was a winter-only destination.
These routes were replaced by other routes and the airline is now about to start another batch, using the additional aircraft to be based at Bristol.
Ryanair, like all low-cost airlines, often begins routes that are subsequently axed because they do not make the airline the required profit.
Some of the cancelled Bristol routes actually had good load factors, though not all did, but the yields were not satisfactory. It can often swing on the airport charges at the destination airport and even the amount of money passengers spend on things like inflight refreshments.”

“Most of these are not actually new destinations, but ones they cancelled (to save money) and have now reinstated, but I guess honesty would ruin a good free advert...”
