Ryan spot on for Southmead
Southmead fought back from the brink of exiting the GFA Under-14 Cup to win 3-2 in a dramatic tie with Mangotsfield United.
Mangos went 2-0 up in the first 10 minutes but Southmead regrouped and the first half ended 2-2 thanks to goals from Reece Evans and Ryan Connelly.
Mark Ascuntion, Oliver Bryant and Marcus Thatcher helped Southmead to dominate the second half and Connelly had the final word by firing the winner from the penalty spot.
Bristol Rovers Supporters cruised to a 3-0 victory over Bristol City Supporters in the same competition.
Rovers made the perfect start, Jack Stenner latching on to Rico Witter's cross to lob the oncoming keeper after just 40 seconds.
Rovers had a penalty saved three minutes later and they had to wait until the 59th minute for their second goal. Witter's through ball was collected by Ajani Smith, who notched his 10th of the season.
Smith got his second of the game and wrapped up the tie with a late third for Rovers, whose Tom Booth was man-of-the-match with his work-rate and distribution in the middle of the park.
Another top display by keeper Sam Wilmot could not save Southmead from losing 6-0 to Stoke Lane in the Under-13 Cup.
