David Green won the latest Bristol Bridge Inn 5k road race in a time of 15 minutes 53 seconds, four seconds ahead of Yate & District AC teenager Gregg Halliwell.

Bitton's Michelle Kerfoot was top woman ahead of Yate teenager Lucy Atkins.

Men: 1 David Green (B&W) 15:53; 2 Gregg Halliwell (Yate, U17) 15:57; 3 Gary Hope (Sev, M40) 16:10.

M55: Dave Wintle (GWR) 18:50.

Women: 1 Michelle Kerfoot (BRR, W35) 18:37; 2 Lucy Atkins (Yate, U17) 18:44; 3 Chloe Felton (Tiv) 19:09. 117 finishers.

Bitton Road Runners' Phil Westlake clocked a time of 1hr 18mins 51secs for 140th place in the Marrakech Half Marathon, while wife Anita covered the 13.1 miles in 2:01.03 for 107th place.

Competing in the Slaughterford 9, club-mate Matt Langdon came 18th in a time of 1.05.14, while Lynette Porter was the women's winner in a time of 1.06.22.

A large contingent of Bitton runners headed to Wales for the Lliswerry 8 and Ian Hoare was the first man home in 20th, clocking 49mins 17secs, while Helen Hinsley was leading woman (55:06).

Bitton RR: 30 Bill Graham 50.29 (1st M55); 126 Janet Brown 58.56 (1st W45); 143 Karen Dawkins 59.47 (1st W50); 307 Valerie Collier 84.03 (1st W65).

Yeovil Town Road Running Club have their first organised race of the year taking place at Ilchester on Sunday, February 15, with the third running of the Inca Trail seven-mile multi-terrain race, which has the supporting Yak Track (three-mile) and Guinea Pig Gallop (one-mile) fun runs.

Team Bath AC high jumper Ed Mason cleared two metres for the first time in Saturday's Team Bath Indoor meeting.

The 19-year-old added four centimetres to his outdoor PB of 1.96m, which he set last summer, in what could prove to be a major breakthrough.

The next Burnham 5k road race will be held on Thursday, from Burnham-on-Sea Swimming Pool (7.30pm).
