● Yate-born Zoe Derham, UK's No 1 hammer thrower, was close to her season's best with 67.25m in winning the hammer at the EAP meeting in Nivelles, Belgium.

● Competing at the Mondo Keien meeting, in Uden, Netherlands, former Bristol & West AC athlete Amy Woodman finished second in the long jump with a leap of 6.16m.

● Bristol & West AC pole vaulters Martin Davies and Lucy Bryan both cleared outdoor personal bests of 3.35m in the Avon Track & Field League meeting at Yate.

Returning from injury, Tony Hiller reached 4.20m, Luke Bailey 4.00m and Steve West 3.40m.

Bitton Road Runners' claimed second place in the women's race at the Cotswold Way relay, trailing Team Bath AC by just over five minutes after 103 miles of racing.

Team Bath also won the men's race. Great Western Runners, who had hopes of mounting a strong challenge, had to settle for fourth overall.

● The next Bristol Ridge Inn 5k race, Shortwood, is being held tonight, with entries taken before the start.

Thornbury Running Club stage the newly-renamed Thornbury Carnival 10k road race (formerly the Sundayshill 10k) on Thursday (7.30pm) from Thornbury Running Club.
