Hundreds of runners hit the beach for the annual Christmas Cracker race in aid of Weston Hospicecare.

The 21st 10K run along the beach at Weston-super-Mare, saw runners in Father Christmas hats and fancy dress, tackling the course under clear skies and bright winter sunshine.

Runners started under the Grand Pier at 11am and continued through Uphill, past the hospital on Bridgwater Road and back to the sea front.

The aim of the event is to raise money for Weston Hospicecare, which provides support for the terminally ill.
