Runner-up Paradigm Norton
DESPITE tough trading conditions financial planning firm Paradigm Norton achieved more than £300,000 profit last year, its highest since the company was formed in 2001.
Over the last 11 years it has acquired three more firms, most notably Norton Partner in 2005, following the death of its founder David Norton. Last September it took over a small tax service in Bristol, enabling it to offer an expanded service to its clients.

Paradigm Norton opened its second office in Torquay two years ago and formed a joint venture with a law firm.
"We continue to monitor business growth opportunities and will build the firm by organic growth and by acquisition," said Barry Horner, its Chief Executive.

Paradigm Norton, based at Ham Green in North Somerset, employs 39 people, with its main customers being business owners and partners in professional practices as well as entrepreneurs in the South West.
"Whereas most Financial Services Authority regulated businesses are sales focused, we are service focused. We employ nine client relationship managers who are supported by a talented team of 23 financial planners, tax planners and administrators.
"By design, we only act for a relatively small number of clients. This is a strategy which allows us to devote a significant amount of time and attention to each client relationship," said Mr Horner.
Since the company was founded it has won 15 industry awards, covering the investment management, financial planning, retirement planning, technology, human resources and compliance services offered by the firm.
