Lately I have been running around The Downs early in the morning at 7.30am to get myself fit but the rubbish that I see left lying on the grass could be avoided.

Beer bottles, boxes, paper, tins, portable barbecues are left all over the place. People just get up and leave everything behind them. All they need to do is take a black bag with them, put all the rubbish in it and leave it by the side of the road if they don't want to take it home – it will encourage vermin otherwise.

The Downs is such a lovely place to walk or run.

Please if you have a barbecue etc, pick up your rubbish before you leave.
