Bristol Round Table recruitment drive
Round Tablers in the Bristol area are seeking new recruits.
The Keynsham and Downend Round Table has just changed its name to the Great Western Round Table which covers the whole of north Bristol as well as Downend, Emersons Green, Fishponds, Filton, Winterbourne, Kingswood, Yate and Keynsham.
It is a charitable social club for men.
There are social events every fortnight which usually involve beer and visits to places of interest.
Forthcoming events include a visit to the defence academy at Shrivenham and a trip to Cotswold Water Park for waterskiing.
The group is probably best known for organising a fireworks display each year at the King George V playing fields in Downend.
Needy families benefit from a Christmas hamper each year, thanks to Round Tablers and there are Ladies Nights and fund-raising events.
There are just ten members left who would welcome more like-minded men aged between 18 and 45.
Vice-Chairman Andrew Simmonds, 29, said: "Many people have pre-conceptions about Round Table.
"Basically Round Table is an excuse to have a laugh, a few beers and to raise some money for charity along the way.
"We are from all sorts of backgrounds and we are a friendly bunch."
Men interested in finding out a bit more can come along to a meeting, usually held in a pub.
