Rose bags a point and a debut goal for Bristol Academy
Jemma Rose marked her debut for Bristol Academy by scoring five minutes into stoppage time to clinch a last-gasp 2-2 draw at Nottingham Forest in the National Division of the FA Premier League.
It was the Academy's fifth draw in their last six away games and they had to overcome the blow of losing keeper Rachel Simkin to injury midway through the first half, defender Sam Tomsit moving from left-back to take over between the posts.
Sharla Passariello – one of five under-18s in a reshuffled side – gave the visitors the lead, only for Forest to hit back through goals from Natalie Clarke and Andi Bell.
But central defender Rose, an England youth international signed from Plymouth Argyle, nodded in a cross from Justine Lorton to leave Forest deep in relegation trouble.
Coach Gary Green had been unhappy with his side's performance in their FA Women's Cup exit at Sunderland a week earlier, so gave youngsters their chance.
"They responded well," he said. "We lacked a bit of experience because of the changes but there was a lot more enthusiasm than we had shown the week before."
The Academy are without a fixture this weekend but return to action with a home game against Chelsea on Sunday week.
It was honours even in the top four of the Southern Division as second-placed Keynsham Town's 2-2 draw at third-placed Barnet meant they failed to make ground on leaders Charlton, who also drew against fourth-placed Cardiff City.
Frankie Stone and Luciana Silva bagged the goals for Keynsham.

Oldland Abbotonians have made a complaint to the league about the standard of refereeing in their 2-2 Division One (North) draw at Swindon Spitfires, where in-form Gemma Summers kept up her prolific run by scoring both goals.
Assistant boss Steve Lavis said: "The ref had a shocker and was very inconsistent – but we can't blame him for the result as we missed enough chances to win two games."
Bristol & West ended a poor run of form in Division One of the Gloucestershire County Women's League as a hat-trick from winger Carla Thomas secured a 3-0 victory over Newent Town.
