Roll of honour as students' endeavour translates into best-ever results
YATE International Academy achieved its best results so far, with 50 per cent of students getting at least five good passes including English and maths.
The figure for at least five GCSEs at grades A*-C was 66 per cent, also up on previous years.
The school recorded 16.4 per cent of all grades at A*/A, with the following students achieving a range of A*/A grades across the board: Sam Attwood, Connor Best, Elisha Crew, Conner Foley (the top-performing boy), Jodie Jefferies (top-performing girl) and Alex Millichamp.
In science, a specialism, 77 per cent of all grades were A*-C, with the academy's other specialism, sport, achieving 50 per cent A*/A grades.
Principal Roger Gilbert said: "I am absolutely delighted by the performance of this year's Year 11 students in achieving the highest-ever results for the academy. I am especially pleased with passing the 50 per cent mark for five and more A*-C including English and mathematics, which is a significant improvement on 2010.
"The hard work of this group of students cannot be underestimated, and I must thank all those involved in their success, including all of the academy teaching and support staff and their parents and carers."
