TWO men fled after trying to rob a man in Bradley Stoke and after rejecting the mobile phone their victim handed over.

The incident happened in Bowsland Way as the 23-year-old victim was walking home.

He was approached from behind by the men as he reached the junction with Campion Drive.

They threatened him and demanded he handed over money and his phone.

He gave them his phone but said he did not have any cash.

The men handed the phone back and left in what was believed to be a black four-door saloon car.

Both men were white and in their mid-20s. One was 6ft 1in tall, of medium build, wearing white trainers, blue jeans, a cream jacket, a navy blue baseball cap and a cream scarf covering his face. He had blond hair and appeared to have either bandages or a plaster cast on his left hand.

His accomplice was slightly shorter, stocky and wore a navy blue padded jacket, with a dark blue and red scarf covering his lower face.

Anyone who saw the incident, just after midnight on June 21, or recognises the suspects, should contact Staple Hill CID on 0845 456 7000.
