A TWO-STOREY green-oak extension is a magnificent addition to this house, with extensive glazing, exposed beams and a vaulted ceiling.

This space is the principal dining room, with an impressive galleried landing above, and French doors leading to a patio and garden bordered by the River Chew.

A wooden floor in the dining room continues into the sitting room, which is dominated by a brick fireplace and log-burner. A further set of patio doors here frame views over the river and the farmland beyond. To the south of property lies an enclosed two-and-a-half-acre field.

Elsewhere in the house is an occasional dining room with fireplace and French doors, a WC, utility room and a contemporary kitchen finished in black, red and white, with integrated furniture.

There are two staircases, one in the old part of the house leading to two bedrooms and a bathroom, while the other reaches two further double bedrooms on the second floor. Off the galleried landing is the principal bedroom, with bathroom and walk-in dressing room.

If more space is required it may be possible to convert a four-room single-storey outbuilding.

At the front, a lawn is surrounded by a high stone wall, with a further enclosed garden at the rear, and it's possible to walk to Pensford and Stanton Drew along the riverbank.
