The body of a missing man has been recovered from the River Avon.

Jonathan Rea was reported missing from his Brislington home on Sunday. Police appealed for information on the 35-year-old's whereabouts because of concerns for his welfare, as he had a medical condition.

Firefighters in an inflatable dinghy recovered Mr Rea's body from the Avon near St Anne's Park on Monday and his identity was confirmed yesterday.

Officers are not currently treating the death as suspicious.
