Drivers using the Avon ring road have been warned of lane closures from Monday while council staff carry out maintenance and clear litter.

The work will last for eight days, with a different section of the road affected on each of the days.

South Gloucestershire Council said some of the work would be carried out on the central reservation, requiring the lane closure as a safety precaution.

But with delays expected as a result, the work will be done outside the rush hour and will be phased in an attempt to minimise disruption.

The work to be carried out includes grass cutting, litter picking, road sweeping and gully emptying.

The lane closures will come into effect at 9.30am each day, with the first phase on Monday covering the stretch from AbbeyWood at Filton to the M32.
