More than 200 riders took part in a 104km charity ride at the weekend, setting off in north Bristol and taking in the Severn Valley.

Aged from their 20s to 70s, cyclists came from across the region on Saturday for the 12th memorial ride for Jack and Grace Cotton, two stalwarts of the local cycling scene for many years.

The 9am start was at Aztec West in Almondsbury, and riders followed a picturesque route through Slimbridge and Frampton-on-Severn to Epney in Gloucestershire before looping round via Cam and Stinchcombe to the finish at Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre.

Thirsty riders were served refreshments at a couple of stops – at the Anchor Inn in Epney and at Leyhill Prison.

More than £1,200 was raised for Cancer Research, a charity that Jack and Grace had greatly supported.
