Rickie Lambert off the mark already at Southampton
Former Bristol Rovers' striker Rickie Lambert has already started paying back part of his £1m plus transfer fee to Southampton.
Lambert was awarded the treasured number seven shirt worn by Saints legend Matt Le Tissier. And he didn't disappoint the home crowd, opening the scoring in the 29th minute at St Mary's in his first game for the club, a Carling Cup first round tie against Northampton.

Lambert - Already on target for his new club
Southampton went on to win 2-0 and manager Alan Pardew praised his £1million plus new signing after the match.
"Rickie Lambert got off to a great start," he said. "That's what he's all about. He's got two goals already this season.
"He didn't show any signs of nerves. His first piece of action was to try and strike it in from 40 yards."
