Revealed! The great waste recycling con
AT last, the great recycling con has been exposed.
Not content with fining ordinary citizens for waste receptacle offences, councils don't know what happens to our waste afterwards when they have flogged it off to some waste disposal firm.
A great deal of this refuse is shipped abroad, then dumped. In India, it is put on farmland and covered with a thin layer of soil.
According to the Environment Agency, dumping waste in poor countries is illegal. How many of these so-called recycling firms have been prosecuted for their actions?
This whole recycling charade is merely a money-making scam. How come our elected councillors have not objected to this blatant con trick? Don't they realise they are being hoodwinked by full-time officials with a slavish devotion to the European quango?
We should do as other EU members do. Ignore the senseless regulations and don't pay the fines. When France broke the rules, they were supposedly fined and they didn't pay.
In reply to these draconian rules, we should insist that when the EU submits to proper democratic elections for all its executive posts, and gains electoral legitimacy, only then should they have any say in our lives.
