Reunion and balloon launch help nursery's birthday party take off

A NURSERY in Barrs Court celebrated its tenth birthday in style with a day of fun for parents and children.

Staff at the Just Learning Nursery in Stoneleigh Drive put on a host of activities including face painting, a bouncy castle, creative tables, and a soft play area as well as providing lots of cakes for attendees to nibble on.

At 12.30 everyone decamped from the nursery to take part in a mass balloon launch on Saturday afternoon hoping to get replies from people as far afield as possible who find the balloons.

Children who had attended the nursery when it first opened back in 1993 attended to join in the celebrations

Nursery manager Natalie James said: "It was an absolutely amazing day and lots of people turned up to help us celebrate.

"I have been with the nursery since it first opened ten years ago and I can honestly say that it has been a lovely journey.

"The balloon launch went well, although a few got stuck in trees, and we have had a one reply already.

"It was lovely to have some of the children who attended the nursery when we first opened with us especially as their siblings now do."

Just Learning Nursery, at Barrs Court, has childcare provision for up to 112 children and focuses on key skills that will benefit each child by the time they face the challenges of full-time education.
