Lawrence Roycroft made a sensational return to the Old England Bristol Sikhs side, taking 5-17 and scoring 37 in his side's six-wicket win at Midsomer Norton 3rds in Division Three of the North Somerset Cricket Conference.

The home side, who remain in the drop zone, lost their first seven batsmen for single figures, five being victims of Roycroft.

T Kennedy finished with 2-8 off 10 balls and then top-scored with 48 in the Montpelier-based side's reply.

Dyrham & Hinton remain top of Division One after an eight-wicket win at Backwell Flax Bourton.

Andrew Lewis took 4-11 as Flax were dismissed for just 77.

Old Bristolians Westbury are still looking for their first win of the season after losing by five wickets to Wrington, who had half-centuries from Mike Clements and Mick Edmunds.

Bristol 3rds , without an away win all season, produced the shock result of the weekend by ending the unbeaten record of Division Two leaders Whitchurch.

George Allen (69) and skipper Phil Marshall (59 not out) were the batting stars.

In reply, despite 41 from youngster Tom Warren, the home side lost wickets on a regular basis.

Grendel enjoyed a 59-run victory over Knowle West having earlier been dismissed for 113.

West skipper Clive Bailey took 4-19. In reply, Knowle West slumped to 25-5 and Bailey (23) was the only home batsman to reach double figures.

Brislington 3rds went down by two wickets at Bath Hospitals.

Weston super Mare 3rds returned to winning ways with an emphatic 113-run success at home to Stanton Drew as Jason Lane hit a career best 128.

Dyrham & Hinton 2nds remain joint top of Division Three after beating struggling Stratton on Fosse 2nds by 77 runs with Tony Rogers (52) hitting his ninth half-century in five years and Matt Davey, making his first appearance of the season, hitting 64.

GWR Shunters remain rooted to the bottom after losing by 44 runs to Churchways. Rob Penney and Justin Jarvis each took three wickets for Church.

Midsomer Norton Methodists maintained their 100 per cent start to the season in Division Four with a narrow two-wicket win over Whitchurch, who had skipper Simon Meszaros hit 102 not out.

Nailsea 3rds remain in third place after thrashing Old Bristolians 4ths by 191 runs.

Marcus Tanner hit 108 in the home side's total of 268-5, and Jon Simkins followed up with 5-19 as the Old Boys were dismissed for 77.

Midsomer Norton 4ths came out on top in their basement battle with Grendel 2nds after winning by two runs.

Keynsham 3rds remain joint top of Division Five after beating Brislington 4ths by 51 runs.

Wrington 2nds made it four wins in succession with a three-wicket victory over Avonside as Dean Willie, with 56, and father Colin Willie (36) shared a third wicket stand of 65. There were four wickets for Dan Tapson and three for Lewis Yule.

Weston super Mare 4ths lost by just six runs at Exiles (Bath) 2nds, despite the endeavours of skipper Jonathan Lawrence, who hit a superb unbeaten 117 off just 112 deliveries.

There was also a 25-run defeat for Nailsea 4ths at Timsbury 3rds.
