Residents invited to help shape how village will grow in the future
PEOPLE are being invited to have their say on a special blueprint which will set out how Backwell should develop in the future.
The village is only one of a handful across the country chosen by the Government to take part in the scheme where people are being asked to draw up a Neighbourhood Development Plan for where they live.
The plan, which will still have to fit with North Somerset Council's Core Strategy while identifying key issues and opportunities special to the village, will give local people a bigger say on how Backwell is developed.
The parish council has arranged a series of consultation meetings at the parish hall where people will be able to see the draft neighbourhood plan.
This week's delicious £5 5 O'CLOCKTAIL is a refreshing Tequila Sunrise. Available everyday from our Bar for only £5 between 5pm & 7pm.
Terms: £5 cocktail applies to the cocktail of the week.

Valid until: Monday, May 27 2013
The plan covers issues and makes proposals for new developments and employment opportunities in the village and ideas on how to make Backwell more sustainable.
It also includes issues surrounding highways and transport, how sporting, recreation and community facilities can be developed in the future and looks at parking in the village.
The sessions are on November 8 from 6pm-9pm, November 10 from 2pm-6pm, November 22 from 6pm-9pm and November 24 from 9am to noon.
A steering group spokesman said: "This is about the future of Backwell over the period 2012 to 2026 and we want people to come to one or more of the open days and be part of the planning process."
Anyone who is unable to make one of the open days can contact the parish office on 01275 464653 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
