Replica to join Bristol Balloon Fiesta
A replica of the first balloon to fly around the world non-stop will be at Bristol Balloon Fiesta next month.
The new replica of the Breitling Orbiter 3 will be flown by its original record-breaking pilot Brian Jones, and he is offering flights in the balloon to raise money for St Peter's Hospice.

He will also be raising money for his own charity, Winds of Hope, with which he hopes to be able to eradicate the disease Noma, which kills 80,000 children in Africa each year.
Brian and Bertrand Piccard took off from the Swiss Alpine village of Château-d'Oex shortly after 8am on March 1, 1999.
They landed in the Egyptian desert 19 days, 21 hours, and 55 minutes later, having travelled a distance of 45,755 km.
Brian said: "St Peter's Hospice helped to provide family support when my mother died so when I decided to bring the Breitling Orbiter 3 replica to the Balloon Fiesta I thought I could team up with them to try and raise money for them and my own charity Winds of Hope."
John Flanagan, community fundraising manager at St Peter's Hospice, said: "We are thrilled to be able to team up with Brian and his charity Winds of Hope to sell spaces on this world famous and record breaking balloon. We know there are some balloon enthusiasts in and around Bristol who would love the chance to have a flight on this amazing balloon and they'll be helping raise money for two fantastic causes at the same time."
Flights are available on August 6 at 6pm, August 7 at 6pm, August 8 at 6am and 6pm, August 9 at 6am and 6pm.
The cost is £300 per ticket, with two basket spaces available per flight, and the money will be split equally between both charities.
In the event that the weather does not allow a flight to take place then Bailey Balloons will fly the passengers on one of their flights after the Fiesta at a cost of £99 per person and the remaining money will be returned to the purchaser.
Anyone wishing to purchase a flight on the Brietling Orbiter 3 replica balloon should contact Anna Cairns at St Peter's Hospice by Monday, August 3 on 0117 9159300 or email anna.cairns@stpetershospice.org

“No mention that the original balloon was designed and locally-built at the world's largest air balloon manufacturer - Camerons!
We really need to promote the excellent things the City has whenever possible.”
