Relax she is only having a laugh
COME on, R Worner, lighten up. Geraldine's letters are meant to be read as a big joke, they are not meant to be taken seriously.
Consider her 'slavery' letter (the Post May 9), yet another huge joke.
Relax and enjoy them. Ram-Mohan-Roy Road? Mary Carpenter Hill? Why not Wallace Walk and Gromit Grove? Surely they've done a lot more for Bristol than Ram-Mohan-Roy, who he?
I'm sure 'Land of Hope and Handouts' would be a much more appropriate anthem for aspiring immigrants. A quick aside in response to a query as to why there are so many men hanging about in Stapleton Road, they are looking for work, obviously.

For many years now I've been considering asking Italy for an apology for stealing our white skinned, blond, blue eyed children for use as Roman slaves (do white skin slaves count?) as well as invading and occupying Britain for a few hundred years.
Ok, so it was a long time ago, but what's a few centuries when I'm sure there must be lots of us natives still suffering the trauma of distant relatives being used as Roman slaves.
I hereby nominate Geraldine B Skidmore as the most appropriate person to take up this very important matter.
There can be no time limit set to righting these ancient wrongs done to us Britons.
Tighten your togas Romans, Geraldine might be on your case soon.

“What about Saxon Slavery ! one such man as Patrick was abducted from Banwell in Somerset went across the water to Ireland/hibernian
Then sent to Rome to be inducted ! and made a " Saint " !”
