Refit boosts firm during anniversary celebrations
A Westcountry fire safety and security business has celebrated 30 years in business.
Plymouth-based Securi-Guard was formed in 1982 when current chairman Bill Boyd bought Smith's Property Protection and rebranded it as Securi-Guard.

Joint Securi-Guard managing directors Kim Precious and Scott Boyd are celebrating the firm's 30th anniversary
The business is run today by his son, Scott, and daughter, Kim Precious, who share the day-to-day management of the company. It has recently refitted its alarm receiving centre (ARC), which houses around 60 staff who monitor the company's systems. It is the largest such centre west of Bristol and is used for the monitoring of intruder and fire alarms, CCTV, lone worker devices and vehicle tracking in the UK and across Europe.
Ms Precious said: "From an original staff of four, the company now has an annual turnover of £8 million, something we are all very proud of. What is also nice is that a number of staff are related through marriage, so it really does feel like an extended family business. We look forward to another 30 years and it will be amazing to see where security technology is when we celebrate that birthday."
