Eastleigh 1 Weston-s-Mare 0: Exeter referee Andy Rodda was the busiest man at the Silverlake Stadium, issuing eight yellow cards and awarding 35 free-kicks as the home side maintained their bid for a play-off spot in Blue Square South.

There were also 16 offside decisions which infuriated both sets of supporters.

Although Eastleigh shaded the scoreless first half, Weston keeper Ryan Northmore had only routine saves to make.

However, Weston's Manny Williams put a superb shot on the turn just over and Ben Wells crashed a distant shot off an upright.

For the second half, Weston had to reorganise their defence as Mike Green picked up a foot injury.

Scott Bartlett dropped back in defence and Dean Grubb came on in midfield.

Williams was denied by a goal line tackle on 50 minutes, which resulted in Weston's only corner. At the other end, Jamie Brown struck the crossbar.

The crucial goal came on 68 minutes when Peter Adeniyi burst through on the left and crossed for substitute Tony Taggart to head past goalkeeper Northmore from eight yards.

The home defence hung on for an important win.
