Redcliffe students raise money for addiction charity
STUDENTS from Redcliffe Sixth Form Centre have raised almost £550 for an addiction charity.
The teenagers undertook a range of creative fundraising activities, including abseiling, sponge throwing and pyjama wearing to support the Addiction Recovery Agency (ARA).

The agency was nominated by the sixth form centre as their Rag Week Charity.
The agency has recently set up a cafe underneath the nearby St Mary Redcliffe Church staffed by volunteers who are in recovery from addictions.

A total of £549.54 was raised, which ARA will invest in IT equipment for volunteers to use to complete education and training courses during their voluntary placement at the cafe.
Students are being offered voluntary roles within the charity to assist with marketing and other community development activities.
A spokesman for the sixth form centre said: “This is a great opportunity for students to gain some training and valuable voluntary experience working for a local charity which will set them in good steed for their future education and employment.”
