The Stuart Holmes Beauty School will be aimed at individuals who want to learn more about how to get the most from their hairstyle and beauty regime.

Stuart said he launched the school because unlike top celebrities, not everyone can afford to have a personal stylist with them 24/7.

"I want to be able to give my clients the skills to recreate top celebrity looks for themselves at home," he said.

"My vision is to help clients get more from their hair and beauty regime between appointments.

"Our aim is not to train them up to become professionals, but to simply share professional tips with them that they can utilise at home.

"Focussing on major celebrities, we will be giving women the opportunity to learn how to recreate those perfect celebrity looks when it comes to both hair and make-up."

Lessons will be taught by Stuart and senior members of staff at the boutique hair and beauty spa in Imperial Square, this week named as Best Local Salon in the Most Wanted Creative Head Awards.

Student teacher ratios will never exceed 10:1 to ensure a high level of training.

At the end of each course, all graduates will receive a goody bag including a DVD lesson programme, top tips postcards and a certificate that acts as a discount voucher to use in the salon.

Stuart, who launched his salon in 2003 following a refurb by TV designer Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, said: "We have many clients who want to be able to learn from professionals as to how to blow-dry their hair and improve their existing beauty regime techniques.

"Unlike major celebrities, not all of us have the privilege of having personal stylists doing our hair and make-up every day.

"We also realise that not all our clients will be able to come into the salon each time they want a great blow-dry.

"So we wanted to be able to provide them with some basic skills which will assist them in getting the most from their hairstyle."

Stuart has a host of celebrity clients having spent many years working in London cutting and styling the hair of Oscar, Bafta and Brit award-winning stars.

His career has also seen him work on music videos, editorial shoots, image consultancy for major record labels and commissions for model agencies.

The next course of Beauty School will include three evening classes.

The course costs £30 for existing Stuart Holmes clients and £40 for non-clients.
