Ralph hopes to use new role to inspire next generation
The Gloucestershire Cricket Board has appointed Ralph Hardwick as its new community coach.
The 24-year-old, who plays for Bedminster CC will be responsible for delivering sessions in schools, developing the pathway to local clubs and running competitions.
Ralph – who has previously worked for the Board on a freelance basis – started his role this week and is hoping to inspire the next generation of players in the county.
He said: "I am really pleased to have secured a full-time role in cricket after a couple of years working part-time. I am looking forward to passing on my knowledge, getting youngsters excited about cricket and increasing the number of children playing the game in Gloucestershire."

Ralph is currently working toward his Club Coach Award and was manager of the county under 12 boys team last year. He has also delivered on the Bristol StreetChance and Chance To Shine schemes. In addition to his work as community coach, the sports coaching graduate will also be managing the Bristol under 14 and 15 sides during the 2013 season.
As well as working in Gloucestershire, Ralph has also coached in New Zealand and successfully launched a football camp for children aged 11-16 on the small island of Kurendhoo in the Maldives.
His role as community coach will mainly see him delivering coaching sessions in primary and secondary schools throughout the county.
Gloucestershire cricket development manager Steve Silk said: "Ralph has been known to the GCB through his work on various different projects and we are delighted to have him as a member of our full-time staff. He will be an integral part of our delivery team in schools and community settings, bringing enthusiasm and professionalism to the role."
