Somerset's slide towards defeat was held up today as the start of the third day against Durham at Taunton was delayed by rain.

An early lunch was taken at 12.30pm with a view to making a 1.30pm start.

Somerset are 83-1 in their second innings, following on some 391 runs behind the champions.
