Racehorse trainer's wife puts best foot forward
Wiltshire racehorse trainer's wife Rachel King is swapping her jodphur boots for a pair of walking boots as she begins her trek up the Inca Trail on May 14 on behalf of Greatwood racehorse rescue centre and children with special needs.
Rachel, wife of Alan King, obviously enjoys a challenge as last year she walked the Ridgeway for the charity, of which she is a patron.

Rachel will be joined by her friend Tina West, whose daughter Hermione attended the Greatwood Horse Power project, where children with special needs are given the opportunity to learn life skills, such as communication, confidence building and social skills through interaction with the horses.
Rachel said: "I had not considered doing it but Greatwood made me! While Alan and I, and most owners and trainers, ensure their horses are well looked after in retirement, we are aware that some, for a variety of reasons, do slip the net, so we are keen supporters of Greatwood's work in rescuing racehorses.
"Also, both our children go to the same school as Tina's daughter and we know how much Horse Power has benefited Hermione," she added.
"I am doing it for Greatwood because I wanted to thank Greatwood for all they have done for Hermione," said Tina.
Both ladies have been training for the 10-day challenge for a number of months. If you would like to support either you can do it via www.justgiving.com/tinawest1 or www.justgiving.com/rachel20, or call Greatwood on 01672514535.
