Race is on to claim your Bristol 10k place for £10 thanks to the Evening Post
From novice competitors or professional athletes, to those who simply want a fundraising challenge, thousands of runners will be pounding the city's streets next year to take part in the annual 10k race.
Today we are giving Evening Post readers the chance to make 2010 race year with the chance to take part for just £10.
Entries in the road race, which starts in Millennium Square and continues under the suspension bridge, have increased since its debut in 2008.
The usual cost of entering is £21 for unaffiliated runners, £19 for those affiliated to a club and £11 for those over 60 on race day.
But, as a special promotion, the first 1,000 people to complete and return the token printed below can sign up for the run for £10.
Next year's race will take place on Sunday, May 9, with St Peter's Hospice and children's charity Coco named as official race charities.
Shirley Lillicrap, 50, who lives in Bradley Stoke, is already hoping to take part next year after her fundraising success in May this year.
She said: "I ran the Bristol 10k for St Peter's Hospice because they do such fantastic work, they are compassionate and caring, and I know that they desperately need everyone to support this local charity that truly makes a difference."
Ms Lillicrap raised £400 from the 10k and went on to raise £300 in the Bristol Half in September. John Flanagan, community fundraising manager at St Peter's Hospice said: "I am so grateful to Shirley and everyone that ran the Bristol 10k this year and am delighted that Shirley has once again chosen to run for us in 2010. What a star."
Last year scores of volunteers, including many youngsters from sports groups such as Bristol Central Swimming Club and City of Bristol Gymnastics Centre, helped hand out medals and make presentations, while an army of volunteer marshals contributed to the day's success.
