Puxton Showcases Butchery To Quash Fears Over Current Horsemeat Scandal
PUXTON Park's butchery counter held its first ever open day this weekend to help quash fears over the current horsemeat scandal.
Several products have been withdrawn from UK supermarket shelves amid the scandal of horsemeat being found in food products in this country and in Europe.

Puxton Butchery
Horsemeat was first discovered in beef burgers and after further testing some supermarkets have withdrawn further products from sale including lasagne and Spaghetti Bolognese.
Puxton Park in Weston-super-Mare, which has its own Gerald David Butchery department, wants to reassure all its customers that none of its products contain horsemeat.

For this reason it held an open day today (Saturday February 16) offering people the rare chance to see behind the scenes of the butchery and help restore confidence back to the meat market.
Puxton's Alistair Mead said: "To show our community we are using fresh farm meats in our butchers we held an open day.
"Both myself and Alistair David were on hand at Puxton Park explaining to our visitors and customers where our meat comes from and how it is cut.
"We also conducted demonstrations, tasters and giveaways and for the first time ever customers were able to see behind the scenes of our butchery."

“OK, but how do they know? Can they prove it? Have they tested it?”
