Pupils scratch their way to being DJs
Students at Fairfield High School have been learning how to become DJs.
They have been working with DJ Quest, the UK DMC turntablist champion of 2003, on how to mix, scratch and beatmatch in the school's new media lab and recording studio.
Using state-of-the-art technology including the software programme ScratchLive, students from Years 7, 10 and 11 have been making their own mix CDs and performing at Fairfield's weekly live music gig, Live Lunchtimes.
After completing the six-week course, students receive a certificate and a copy of the group's mix CD.
