A team of staff from Cotham High School is tackling a tough challenge for charity.

Eleven of them are aiming to complete the Welsh 3000s Challenge, which involves reaching the top of all 15 Welsh mountains over 3,000ft within the space of 24 hours.

The route covers about 25 miles but the walks to the start point and from the finish point can take it to more than 30 miles.

The staff are raising money for two causes: the school charity Children's Hospice South West and the charity F.U.N Club (Frenchay Unit Neuro Club), which helps children who have been patients of the neurosciences team at Frenchay Hospital.

The latter charity has been chosen because F.U.N Club helped Rhys Redman, the son of Cotham PE teacher Lorrie Redman, when he suddenly became ill last year. Rhys has since made a full recovery.
