SCHOOLCHILDREN in Pill have been learning how to cook in the great outdoors.

Students from Crockerne Primary School joined forces with pupils at St Katherine's School to work with sculptors Sue Pearce and Rod Harris to build a clay oven in the eco garden in the school grounds.

The village's Co-Operative store donated ingredients for the students to make and cook their own pizzas.

The cook up was part of a special project called Food Journeys, being run as part of North Somerset's Find Your Talent initiative.

Children at the two schools have been exploring the journey of food from its source to the plate as part of the initiative.
