I strongly disagree about the length of sentence (two years and four months) that was given to Kirk Ballard ("Jailed for fracturing baby girl's skull", Evening Post, August 5).

This poor child is damaged for life.

You would get a longer sentence if you hurt an animal.

We should do some kind of petition to stop this kind of thing happening again or try and get a longer sentence for this man.
