Prom hopefuls take centre stage
Four choirs battled it out in Bristol's very own Last Choir Standing to win a place at the summer musical extravaganza Prom on The Close.
The excited musicians took part in the sing-off in Cabot Circus last night to win a once-in-a-lifetime chance to sing at the event, described as Bristol's "finest summer party".
Shoppers stopped to listen to the competition.
The Prom, sponsored by the Post and our sister paper the Western Daily Press, takes place in the grounds of Clifton College on July 4 and is also part of Bristol University's centenary celebrations.
The Post will reveal who will sing at The Prom in Tuesday's newspaper, giving the judges the weekend to deliberate.
Last night's sing-off included Partsong, a Bristol-based acapella group.
The only school choir to have got so far in the competition is The Six, an all-girl choir from Redland High School.
Also competing was Bartones, a vocal harmony group based at Barton Hill, which has been singing together for three years.
And finally was Nota Bene, a seven-strong acapella choir from St Bonaventure's Church.
