Pre-school gets a garden
Volunteers picked up their forks and spades to create a garden for children who go to Stanton Drew and Pensford Pre-school.
The small, community-run playgroup, based in the village hall in Stanton Drew, had no outside space where the children could play.
So the hall committee allowed the pre-school to create a garden on a strip of land next to the hall.
And local people and businesses offered their support.
The makeover began on Friday when garden designer Steve Collins begin work at the site. On Saturday he was joined by Mark Vear owner of building firm Vears Ltd, pre-school parents and local volunteers. The team hope to have the garden finished by mid-May.
Mark Vear: said: "It's a pleasure to offer our support to a project like this, which benefits the local children and the community."
