Powe and Wines pair up for a win at Westerleigh
PETE Powe and Geoff Wines clinched the Kingswood DAC's John Hockey Pairs trophy with more than 10lb to spare at Westerleigh Lakes.
Match secretary, Powe weighed in the lion's share and topped the individual category with a 35-2-0 catch of carp that was enough to win the trophy on its own.
Wines added exactly 4lb of silvers to the total weight and the pairs ran in clear champions with a combined 39-2-0.
Powe said: "I knew I had drawn the better of the two pegs and if things ran to form the higher weight would be down to me.
