Pothole repairs across county
WORK to patch potholed roads across North Somerset is to be carried out this month.
Roads in Clevedon, Clapton In Gordano, Dundry, Kewstoke, Nailsea, Redhill, Sandford, Weston-super-Mare and Yatton will see the work get under way this month.
To make sure that these repairs are carried out as swiftly as possible a patch planer is being used.
The patch planer speeds up repairs by quickly removing old road surfaces and creating a sound base on to which to lay new material.
Time on site is reduced and disruption to road users kept to a minimum.
Several roads have been identified to receive treatment and residents will be kept informed of when the work will be carried out with letter drops.
Signs will also be installed ahead of the work, which is costing £150,000, starting.
A council spokesman said: "The repairs are more permanent and resistant to water damage due to freezing temperatures than ad hoc pot hole repairs."
