Bristol Academy will be opening their FA Women's Cup campaign in the new year short of matches after going through December without a game.

The postponement of their clash at Premier League title- chasers Everton last weekend was the third postponement in a row for the Gas Girls.

Gary Green's squad are next due to be in action on Sunday, January 4, when they travel to take on Watford in the fourth round cup clash.

Southern Division Keynsham Town have also been badly-hit by call-offs – their last league game was at the end of November and their next is a scheduled home clash with Millwall on January 11.

The weather again forced a string of postponements, although in the South West Premier there were heavy home defeats for both Bristol Ladies Union and Stoke Lane Athletic, while Oldland Abbotonians made their exit from the Pat Sowden Cup after a 1-0 defeat to Bishops Lydeard.

Oldland's assistant boss Steve Lavis said: "We missed four good opportunities in the first half but looked lifeless in the second."
