Portishead school hosts first softball tournament
The sun wasn't the only spherical yellow object in the skies over Portishead this weekend as Gordano School hosted the DD Cup softball tournament. Twelve mixed teams of men and women competed over the weekend coming from as far away as Leicester, London and Jersey.
The DD Cup competition is aimed at newer teams and was slickly run by the Bristol Softball Association (BSA).

Cup and Plate winners
After two long days in the sun, two unbeaten teams emerged in the Cup Final, the Lucky Strikes and Team Phoenix, both of which play in the local BSA 3rd division. In a very close fought match the Lucky Strikes came out winners 15 to 10.
The local Clifton Softball League (CSL) was represented by 'Unit & Sons' who overcame 'Thunder' in the final of the plate 9 to 2.
