Portishead Juniors Under-10s played their hearts out to become the first team to take a point from rampant league leaders St Nicholas.

Striker Aimee Morgan put Portishead ahead with a superb lob following a fine pass from Kyla Probert.

In a very competitive game Saints struck back shortly afterwards to level the scores before half-time.

Portishead were determined to push on in the second period, with strong performances from Izzy Batchelor and Emily Dickens in midfield. And they were desperately unlucky not to take all the points when a dangerous corner from Sophie Dumine fell to Chelsea Hill, whose thunderous shot rattled the crossbar.

Portishead's player-of-the-match Rosie Collings led a never-say-die defensive performance alongside Eloise Hubbard to keep the St Nicholas strikers under pressure, and while chances continued to fall at both ends, a 1-1 draw was a fair outcome.

AEK Boco Under-15s proved too strong for a Bitton side who were only able to field ten players.

Abi Nicholas opened up the scoring with a well-placed shot and with Carris White continuing to apply pressure with probing runs down the right, good passing eventually set Maddie Saunders free to slot home her first goal for Boco just before half-time.

Bitton came out fighting in the second half, forcing Boco's keeper into making some good saves.

But Danni Hill ended all hopes of a fightback by netting Boco's third goal and although their opponents responded with a superb Natalie Hulbert strike to pull it back to 3-1, it was Boco who had the last word when Amy Foster scored her first goal for the club with a well-placed shot just before the final whistle to wrap up a 4-1 success.
