Portishead man charged after cannabis plants found

A PORTISHEAD man has been charged with cultivating cannabis after a “factory” growing the class B drug was found in a loft.

Joey Hale, 28, of Brittan Place, was arrested after police executed a warrant on the street in December and found eight "semi-mature" plants.

Mr Hale will appear at North Somerset Magistrates’ Court for the first time on March 25.

Talking of the wider issue of cannabis growing, DC Adam Cox, of Avon and Somerset police’s District Targeting Team, said: “Cannabis factories have a clear link with serious and organised crime.
