Police track suspect more than 200 miles and arrest him in Halifax
Police from Bristol travelled more than 200 miles to arrest a man suspected of a serious assault.
Yesterday officers from Avon and Somerset Police travelled to Halifax and undertook an operation supported by West Yorkshire Police to locate a known prolific offender of serious acquisitive crimes such as burglary, who is wanted in connection with Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) and other offences in Bristol.

A 37-year-old man was arrested at a property on the outskirts of Halifax.
A large quantity of cannabis plants were also recovered during the execution of search warrants connected to the assaults in Bristol.

The suspect was transported back to Bristol where he is currently being interviewed in connection with two serious assaults, dangerous and disqualified driving, cultivation of cannabis, possession of drugs, failure to appear at Crown Court and other bail offences.
Inspector Steve Appleton said: "We want any criminals to know that it doesn't matter where you go or if you move to another part of the country, you cannot avoid justice.
"This operation demonstrates the reach of officers from Avon and Somerset Police and our determination to arrest those offenders who attempt to evade capture no matter how long it takes or how far we have to travel.
"We worked on intelligence we had gathered and received excellent support from the police and community in Halifax and as a result we have returned to Bristol with the wanted offender."
Also arrested today by Operation Relentless officer's is another of Avon and Somerset's sought after prolific offenders.
The 28-year-old was arrested on suspicion of a burglary in South Gloucestershire on September 14 and is currently being questioned by police officers.
