Avon and Somerset Police said the four people were being held in custody for questioning.

No details on the substances involved or the exact quantity was released by the force.

Detective Inspector Andy Bevan from the Avon and Somerset police Serious Crime Group said: "We will not tolerate the supply of illegal drugs in Bristol and will work closely with our colleagues in other forces to prevent them coming into our city.

"Drugs have a devastating impact on people's lives and also on our communities. We will continue to be relentless in tackling their supply and associated crime."

He called on anyone with information on drug dealing to contact the police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
