Although it is thought he may be in the Bristol area he also has connections with Swindon.
Michael is known to be depressed and may appear withdrawn.
He requires regular medication, which he has not taken with him.
Inspector Andy Brain told The Post: "Michael requires regular medication for some mental health problems.
"If he is not taking his medication it may mean he becomes aggressive, or may self harm.
"We are conerned for his own safety, as well as anyone coming into contact with him.
"He has very limited contacts in Bristol, and is originally from Swindon so may have travelled there.
"The longer he goes without his medication the more concerned we become."
As Michael's condition may mean he could be aggressive if approached, anyone spotting him is asked to contact the police immediately on 999.
