Police investigate assault on woman in Fishponds

A woman in her 40s has been allegedly attacked in the early hours of this morning in Fishponds.

Police are still trying to piece together what happened but said at the moment the incident is being treated as an assault.

The woman is believed to have received hospital treatment following the assault which happened at 12.30am at the junction of Fishponds Road and Manor Road.

Martin Dunscombe, an Avon and Somerset police press officer, said no details of injuries were being released at this stage.
